Seth Godin wrote a great blog post on social network pictures. I think far too often we forget that people judge a book by its cover. Even though we like to think of ourselves as well-rounded, rational beings we can’t help but to have an impression based rather quickly upon viewing a profile picture. Although the substance of the information we share and how we interact through social media is important, so is the image we use of ourselves. Do yourself a favor and read Seth’s post, then take a second look at the image you are putting out in the social mediasphere.
