The Value Of A Good Answering Service

by AttorneySync on March 29, 2010

As a solo or small firm, you probably find yourself wearing many hats around the office. In between running to court, answering the phone, meeting with clients, etc. you barely have time to stop and think. However, one thing you can not overlook is the importance of having someone answering your phone.

People Have Short Attention Spans

One of the biggest obstacles that smaller firms face is the ability to properly work incoming contacts and leads. This all starts with answering the phone. You might be spending time, energy, and money to market your firm and generate phone calls. The problem is that a prospect’s attention is fleeting. This is especially true on the web where your competition is only a click away. You need to understand that if a potential client calls and no one is there to answer, the chance that they will leave a message and then wait for your call back is slim to none. It is imperative that you have someone that can speak to them on the phone. At the very least, you need someone to take a message and assure the prospect that they will be contacted shortly. A voice mail message from you isn’t going to cut it.

What To Do?

Hiring a good answering service should be a part of your budget. There are some very good ones out there that work specifically with law firms and understand how to address legal inquiries. They are affordable and most importantly, can bring revenue back into the firm by making the most of the people contacting you.
