Your Law Firm Website Should Be Free!

If you’re a solo, small, or even mid-sized consumer focused (i.e. personal injury, criminal defense, bankruptcy, etc.) law firm, merely “having” a website and blog for your law firm should cost you next to nothing. No, you did not misread that. Having a law firm website and blog should not be costing you thousands, or even hundreds of dollars per month. There are several options available for having a very professional looking website and content management system for less than $50 per month. When it comes to merely “having” a website and blog, the only things worth paying for are hosting, installation, and possibly design.

It is truly astounding how many lawyers are paying hundreds to thousands of dollars per month merely to have a static website merely “set-up”. With all the free and inexpensive options available for creating a dynamic, professional website and blog, paying hundreds or thousands per month for set-up is a huge waste of money.

What you should be paying for are web marketing and publicity

On the other hand, paying for law firm SEO, web marketing, and publicity may be well-worth the money. Of course, this depends on what results the web marketing company can generate for your firm. As with all other forms of marketing and advertising, it comes down to three simple words:

Return On Investment

So, if you’re spending more than $50 per month just to “have” a website, the time has come to stop dumping money into the web abyss and start investing in an effective and efficient web presence.

Your article is way superficial and obviously a mean to marketing your SEO guide. If you’re going to tell us that a website should be free, why don’t you tell us how? It appears that you really have no expertise on this subject and just want to tell us your self serving opinion, which is for your hidden agenda. Another blogger without any real knowledge or expertise. Pull-leeeeeeze! What a waste.

I am sorry that you found the post “superficial”. Perhaps I failed to articulate my point. There are many ways to keep the costs of a new site down. We strongly recommend wordpress.org.

The greater point is that lawyers are spending a lot of money on static websites that don’t get found.

Yes, we do law firm search engine optimization. This doesn’t change the fact that merely buying an expensive site without having a plan for getting is found, in my humble opinion, is a waste of money.

If you would like more information about how you can set up a website for your law firm for under $50 per month, I would be happy to discuss your options.
